Terms and conditions

The rules for using cyclonicrealm.click and for commissioning a Cyclonic Realm briefing. Last updated 1 September 2026.

These terms are between you and Cyclonic Realm, Doncaster Road, Ackworth, Pontefract WF7 7BX, UK. By using the site you agree to them. Briefing work is also governed by the written scope we send you before we start.

1. The open site

Journalism on this website is for general information. It is not financial, legal, engineering or investment advice, and it is not an offer to sell anything. You may read it, quote short extracts with a credit and a link, and print a copy for personal or internal use. You may not scrape the site for a competing product, republish entire pieces, or present our work as yours.

2. Briefings

A briefing is a paid or scoped piece of reporting and analysis delivered to named recipients. We do not start work until the scope — question, desks, timetable, fee if any — is agreed in writing by email. You are responsible for naming the people who may receive it. You may circulate a briefing inside your organisation; you may not publish it, sell it, or send it to the press without our written consent.

We write in good faith from sources available at the time. Technology and policy move. A briefing is not a warranty that a grant will be awarded, a connection date will hold, or a company will ship. If we discover a material error, we correct it to the original recipients.

3. Fees and cancellation

Where a fee applies, it is due within 14 days of invoice unless the scope says otherwise. You may cancel a commissioned briefing in writing before we have started reporting; after that, work already done is chargeable. We may decline or stop a brief if it would require us to lobby, to misrepresent a source, or to break the law.

4. Intellectual property

Cyclonic Realm owns the copyright in the site and in the briefing text we write. Your confidential facts remain yours. We will not use your unpublished commercial information in open journalism. We will use public facts, even if you first pointed us at them.

5. Liability

We are responsible for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud. Beyond that, we are not liable for lost profit, lost opportunity, or decisions you take after reading the site or a briefing. Our aggregate liability for a commissioned briefing is limited to the fee paid for that briefing. The site is provided as seen.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attack, overload or probe the site. Do not use it to send us unlawful content. We may block access that threatens the newsroom’s systems.

7. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect the copyright in our work.
